Capalaba State College families are preparing for a Halloween disco in the school’s new multipurpose hall, with music, costumes and activities planned for primary students and their younger siblings.
The school’s Parents and Citizens’ Association has organised the event for Friday, 30 October 2026, bringing families together for an evening of dancing and Halloween-themed entertainment. The celebration will take place in the multipurpose hall on School Road, between the college’s junior and senior campuses.
According to the P&C’s announcement published on 4 October, the evening will feature entertainment from Bop Till You Drop, with separate sessions designed around the interests of younger and older primary school students.
Two sessions for younger and older students
The disco is scheduled to run from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with doors opening at 5:00 p.m. The first session, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m., will focus on Prep to Year 2 students, followed by a 15-minute changeover before the Years 3–6 session begins at 7:00 p.m.
Families with children in different year levels will not need to choose between sessions. The organisers have advised that children can stay throughout the evening, with younger siblings aged five and under also welcome.
The entertainment will include music and interactive dancing, giving children an opportunity to join in at a pace suited to their age group. Halloween costumes are encouraged, although families are free to choose comfortable clothing for the activities.
Halloween activities beyond the dance floor
The P&C is planning more than a traditional school disco, with several activities intended to give families options beyond dancing.
Face painting, temporary tattoos and a Halloween photo backdrop are among the attractions announced. Glow sticks and bands will also be available for purchase, alongside BBQ food, drinks and canteen treats.
The organisers plan to decorate the hall with bats, cobwebs, friendly ghosts and Halloween lighting, creating a themed setting for children without requiring elaborate costumes.
The combination of dance sessions and family activities means parents with children of different ages can spend the evening together rather than attending separate events.
New hall brings families together
The disco will also make use of one of Capalaba State College’s newer facilities. According to the college’s official venue information, the multipurpose hall was completed in 2024 and includes two full-sized basketball courts, tiered seating, new classrooms and other sporting facilities.
Located between the junior and senior campuses, the hall provides a shared space for activities beyond the classroom. Its use for the Halloween disco gives younger students and their families another opportunity to gather at the college.
The P&C has an established role in organising school activities and raising funds for improvements and student resources. Its school information page identifies junior discos, fundraising stalls and other activities among its community contributions.
Volunteers invited to support the event
The P&C is seeking additional volunteers to help prepare and run the disco, including decorating the hall, welcoming families, managing stalls and packing up afterwards.
Parents and carers interested in contributing can contact the association, with organisers welcoming even short periods of assistance.
For families planning to attend, the P&C has directed parents to its disco information and ticketing page. The college has specified that the event will take place in the new hall on School Road rather than at the Junior Campus.
The event offers Capalaba families a chance to enjoy Halloween activities together while supporting the parent volunteers who organise community events for the college.
